Alex started out in business when she purchased a disused, old stable in Stanhope. Over a period of time, with help in the evenings form her Mum and Dad, together with the tradesman that her Dad knew, The Lime Tree Gallery opened in 2000. It has been trading successfully ever since. In the early years of her career, she spent many working days here and became aware of the style of art her customers liked.
